Long story short: speaking and moderating skills have moved on from where to look or how to move your hands. Every business professional has moments when he or she needs to speak up - in front of their team, at a meeting or as a speaker at a conference. You probably also need to design and facilitate discussions to involve partners in decision making process. With us you will learn to persuade with constructive arguments, deliver memorable presentations and design meetings, where everyone present will be grateful for an excellent use of their time. No lectures. In a small group. Using case studies.

Suitable for expats and people in international teams, who want to learn contemporary argumentation skills in English.

The training series consists of three topics:

Argumentation and Communication Skills, 1 day
A good argument is a concise expression of a rational thought, clearly structured and based on evidence. Learning to create, recognise, analyse and use such arguments in professional communication contexts (negotiations, meetings, presentations) is the essence of this course.

Presentation Skills: Speak Like Jobs and Clarkson, 2 days
Best speakers do not merely talk to you, they do not merely show you, instead they make you live and feel the ideas they want to communicate. The course provides an environment, where you can learn to create exciting, engaging presentations. We will look at different types of presentations - project reports in corporate meetings, product demos, trainings, conference talks and dinner speeches. Your learning will be enhanced, if you have an actual presentation coming up.

Best Practices for Moderators and Facilitators, 1 day

You need to moderate a discussion or facilitate an event and you'd like to brush up on your skills, to get some practical tips and tricks? An EU presidency meeting. An international conference. A panel session or a break-out workshop during a network meet-up. A public participation gathering. A project meeting. The course is designed to first quickly remind you of the basics and then to bring you up to speed with the latest developments in the art of moderating.

We will cover how to:

  • tell apart rational arguments from emotional positions, filter out emotional content;
  • understand the sources of anxiety and be able to manage it;
  • clearly structure complicated topics for your audiences;
  • perform audience analysis and capture the attention of and communicate to your audiences;
  • have the skills and tools to best fulfil the role of a speaker or moderator;
  • prepare yourself and your participants for an engaging discussion;
  • start, run and summarize events and discussions;
  • structure thoughts and expression as persuasive arguments;
  • recognize erroneous arguments or the lack thereof and outright fallacies, respond to them rationally;
  • direct anyone to formulate arguments by asking the right questions;
  • know the relevant variables in a presentation situation;
  • use your body language, facial expressions and voice as a means of persuasion;
